You've been asking for an update on the little dog from last night, so here it is: He's been named Ragnar (love it!)

He's okay-ish. It could be a lot worse, and it could definitely be better, but the important thing is that he's stable.

As many of you guessed... no microchip. We've scoured the lost and found pages, nextdoor...and no luck so far.

The biggest injury is his jaw, which will require approximately $2,000 in surgery, followed by plenty of time to heal and decompress.

We'd really love to help our friends at Paws of Promise raise the funds for his care. While he's in their hands now, we feel invested in his story since one of our fosters was the one who found him and got the ball rolling. They also have several other medical cases they're juggling, and every dollar makes a difference.

You can also send it to us. Just leave a note that says "PH dog" or "Ragnar" so we can make sure it gets to the right place.

Let's help give this little guy the second chance he deserves.

And one final reminder: please keep your dogs safely contained. It isn't even the Fourth of July yet, and we'll likely be seeing far more frightened dogs running loose over the next several days. A secure yard, leash, or harness can make all the difference between a stressful evening and a tragedy.

Ash update:
Today was an important day for our sweet girl.
Her temperature improved, but she's still very weak and isn't moving around much. The veterinary team has started her on mirtazapine, an appetite stimulant, in hopes of getting her interested in eating.

She's producing urine, but she's also urinating where she lies because she's too weak to consistently get up.

Today was her third day of hospitalization. If she doesn't show meaningful improvement, we'll have a quality-of-life discussion with our veterinarian tomorrow.

We're taking this one day at a time and hoping she decides she's not done fighting yet.

Unfortunately, Ash's hospitalization is expected to cost between $900 and $1,800, depending on how she responds and what additional treatment she needs. We know it's a significant bill, but we also know she's worth giving every chance we can.

If you're able to help with Ash's care, we'd be incredibly grateful.

If donating isn't possible, sharing her story helps more than you know. Thank you for cheering on our "purry dog." We promise to keep everyone updated as we learn more.
