Asked what does it mean to you to place the flags, Emma said, "I think it is important to put out flags to remember our veterans that served our country."
"I like doing the flags because it's a way to respect those who served our country for our freedom," commented Eve.
Carter volunteered, "Putting flags out is a way to honor veterans who fought for our freedom," and Harper added, "because you want to honor the veterans that have served and passed away."

If you are planning to decorate the grave of your loved one with a grave blanket or pillow, please consider purchasing from the cemetery. If you live out of the area or can't get to the cemetery, we can help! Grave blankets run $85.00. Grave pillows are $50.00.
Cemetery will make to order and secure greenery to the ground, and send a photo of the decorated grave. Please call 618-960-1550.

This holiday season, Valley View Cemetery is pleased to make available for purchase a variety of beautiful grave decorations for special order and placement at your family graves.
For family and friends of Valley View Cemetery who live out of the area or are unable to visit the cemetery, we are happy to order, pick up, place your grave decorations, and send you a photograph of the decorated graves.
Large grave blankets adorned with ribbon bows run $115.51 which includes sales tax, delivery and placement. Please order by November 20 for placement of the grave blanket around December 1, 2023.
Holiday floral cones or vases are also available for purchase. Each bouquet will be uniquely made with greens, pine cone ornaments and ribbon. Choose from $32.21, $42.94, or $53.68 price range plus $30.00 order, delivery and setting service.
Standing evergreen wreaths may be purchased for $64.41 plus $30.00 order, delivery and setting service. Saddle prices start at $69.78 plus $30.00 order, delivery and setting service.
Orders for grave blankets must be received by November 20. Cones, vases, wreaths and saddles may be ordered up until December 8. To order, please call (618) 960-1550, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.
