Energime University is the world's first program driven by scientists, dedicated wholly to teaching sustainable global resource management, and creating an educated workforce globally to ensure the future of our planet. The World’s First Climate Change University
Summary: Energime University is the first of its kind: a nonprofit university dedicated solely to teaching how to deal with and overcom
e the devastating effects of climate change through online courses and lectures available to a global population. Founder, William Sosinsky, says Energime University will offer free education to those who cannot afford it, while operating on donations and making sales of group packages to governments, organizations and corporations. Edmonds, Washington – September 22, 2014
It’s an idea whose time has come: a university that devotes itself solely to teaching the global population how to deal with climate change. Approximately 97% of all climatologists, scientists and scientific studies agree that climate change is not only real, but it is already manifesting its negative effects on the earth. Energime University is a 501(c)3 nonprofit educational organization that aims to teach a global student body how to deal with, mitigate, and even end the devastating effects of climate change. The University’s Founder, Professor William Sosinsky, is also the visionary Founder and CEO of Energime Sustainable Technologies, Founder and Co-owner of Energime Power, Energime Energy Efficiency, Chairman of the Board for The Energime Foundation, and CEO and Chairman of the Energime Companies.
“As far back as I can remember since we as people began to recognize our potential to destroy our planet’s environment, experts have spoken of a tipping point. This is a theoretical time frame where our collective action would no longer offset catastrophic damage to our biosphere. The wheels of change are now unalterably moving forward with a momentum we are powerless to reverse. This will change our planet in fundamental ways that will have a huge impact on every human being on earth.” ~William Sosinsky
Energime University is currently seeking funding to roll out its platform of courses on new “green” technologies. Among the courses and lectures the University plans to offer are:
The Future of Solar Energy
Building Energy Efficiency
How do we save our Planet 101? (The methodology behind the Energime Model)
Integrating Renewable Energy Assets into the Built World
Converting Waste to Energy
The Coming Agricultural Revolution
This is just a sample of the varied courses and lectures that are planned – all centering around climate change. According to Sosinsky:
“These eight week courses will go into depth on all related subjects and technologies that pertain to their subject matter. All classes will be based on the 4 cornerstones of sustainability (renewable energy, advanced food production, water, and waste management) as they relate to economic expansion, project and job creation. Classes will be a combination of assigned reading materials, lectures, film, and guest speakers. Students will leave these courses with a full understanding of their chosen subject materials and in the case of a skills training related subjects, the skill set to embark on a career path in their chosen profession.”
Because there are so many in the world, particularly in developing countries, who desperately need this knowledge, but cannot afford it, Sosinsky says the University will offer free classes to those who cannot afford to pay. The University is operated as a charitable organization with funding through donations, grants and sales to groups, corporations and governments. Sosinsky said he hopes the University will have enough funds to begin offering its classes and lectures before spring 2015. Like many others familiar with climate change statistics, he said he believes that time is now “of the essence.”
The slate of professors lined up to teach these classes is already impressive, and is growing daily as new experts sign up. Energime University is a collaborative effort which includes more than 400 technology and business development groups in over 140 countries. Our goal is to bring structure and synergy to the global effort of protecting and utilizing our environment. We will educate and train our students with the empowering knowledge that they need to be successful in making a new infrastructure that will bring balance back to our planet, while still providing a way forward for our future. We will cover the most innovative, transformative, and cutting edge technologies so that our students may be one step ahead. We have three major goals.
1. Train students in the skills required to set up and run the new sustainable infrastructure. We will need tens of millions of specially trained workers for the new industries and factories that will produce the technology that we will need, and to direct the advanced farming, waste, and water management protocols that will be needed in order to make this turnaround.
2. Offer a basic curriculum to the general population. By doing this, we can ensure that each individual knows how they impact the environment themselves, and how the global scale impacts their personal lives. We will also educate them on how they can adapt and change so that their homes, businesses, and even individual lives so that they can support this effort, and do so affordably.
3. Educate our social leaders, businesses and governments. They need to understand and implement the proper protocols and methods required to allow the process to continue forward in a way that will continue to be feasible and adaptable, and we will educate and show them how this can be done. With enough funding, Energime University will begin during May of 2014. It will be kicked off with some of the world's best and brightest "Green" inventors, engineers, educators, and more, all at a retreat in Negril, Jamaica. For nine weeks, there will be lectures, demonstrations, workshops, and a film festival, all to forward the education of those we will need to build and run this new job ecosystem. Sucking carbon from air, Swiss firm wins new funds for climate fix
A small Swiss company won $31 million in new investment on Tuesday to suck carbon dioxide from thin air as part of a fledgling, costly technology that may gain wider acceptance from governments in 2018 as a way to slow climate change.
