Happy Tuesday everyone! This week’s tidbit is going to be on the appraisal process and one of the common misconceptions involved. Yes, the buyer is the one paying for the appraisal, but that doesn’t mean the appraiser is working for them. They actually work for the lender as an unbiased 3rd party to the transaction ensuring that both the lender (funding bad loans) and the buyer (paying too much) are protected in the scenario of a balanced market. The past couple years, potential buyers in the greater Seattle area have seen appraisal gap contingencies being used to make up the difference if a home appraises for less than the loan amount. Located just south of Edmonds Community College right off the north corner of 212th and 70th. They have everything from live Dungeness crab, oysters and clams to sushi grade tuna for the adventurous home chefs out there.
