A slice of Edmond History! ☕️

The Wide-A-Wake Café was a popular 24-hour restaurant known for serving customers at all hours of the day. Originally opened in 1927 as the “Night & Day,” the café attracted truckers and tourists traveling along Route 66. Brothers Gene and Crawford Noe, together with their wives Cleo and Essie, owned and operated the establishment. The café became a favorite not only among Edmond residents but also among students from Central State College, many of whom worked or gathered there. For 48 years, the Wide-A-Wake Café upheld its motto: “Good Food, Served Well.”
