Hot off the press: Chris Becker, co-founder and director of business development for The Honeybee Collective, said his company previously raised $241,000 on Mainvest.

“The company was spending a great deal of time on getting in touch with high net-worth investors and other funding options, Becker said, so they decided to redirect that time and effort to a crowdfunding campaign. As a mission-driven company that is employee-owned, he said the community engagement that came with being on Mainvest supported The Honeybee Collective perfectly.

"What better way to create community wealth than through investments in our company?" Becker said.

Now, the company is targeting a financing round of $50,000 to expand its brand into the recently legalized cannabis industry in New York.
