Why is choosing an experienced newborn photographer important? Because your baby is HUMAN and not a doll.

Newborn photography, especially posed/studio, is so much more technical than most people realize. A FULL newborn session with posing on a table/beanbag (your "naked" poses) as well as wrapped and props, siblings (if there are any) plus parents/family takes time. It takes experience, it takes having a workflow, and it takes TRAINING.

Unfortunately Michigan does not require a certification for newborn photography training however, I am safety trained by other photographers, I train newborn safety and workshops and your baby will be 1000% safe with me.

I have been doing posed studio newborn photography since 2019 and teaching since 2022. I know the difference between baby being irritated and needing some time to adjust and baby being in pain. I know when baby is getting hungry and we need to feed. I know when a pacifier will work, and when it wont. If I tell you I think we should call it and reschedule, it's not because I am being impatient, it's because I know your baby is just not having it. If you want me to stay and stick it out I will, but I dont support it as a professional in this field for so long.

What do you get when you choose me to capture your newborn session?
1. Peace in knowing your newborn is safe! My sessions are babyled which means if baby says no, I move on.
2. Experience with so many newborns (I have never counted but I have without a doubt photographed over 100 newborns).
3. I plan and style everything so you don't need to do anything other than follow my prep guide to make sure baby is ready for their staring role!

All this to say, when you are looking at booking a newborn photographer, please look at more than pricing. You cannot put a price on your baby being hurt or unsafe because you cut corners on investment. I promise you, it'll be worth it, just trust the process and if I say, Im leaving my stuff and I will come back, TRUST ME! I get planning is hard but stressing your baby out, is not what I want to do.

Pregnancy is such a short amount of time in your life and it is the one time when your body is growing another person. A person you get to hold and love on in a few short weeks. A person that is 50% you and 50% your favorite person.

I get it, as a mom of 3 I did not feel my best when I was pregnant and if I'm being truly honest, I did not enjoy pregnancy ... However, I did capture each of their pregnancies.

I love that I have those memories now even though I didnt feel super great then. But I absolutely do not regret having those images to look back on.
