Today marks the end of Steptember, a month long fundraiser that raises money for scientific research and technological advancement for people with disabilities, specifically Cerebral Palsy. Something that is absolutely essential for an improved quality of life for people with disabilities.

There’s something else that’s essential for people with disabilities…NOT being defined completely by their disability.

This can be really tricky when your disability is visible. When it’s the first thing someone sees, it’s easy for them to tie it to your identity or worth as a person. Is it right that people do this? Absolutely not. Do they do it anyway? Yes. Should you build your self worth on the opinions of others? No…but that’s for another post, at another time. 😉

Cerebral Palsy is part of me, part of my life and I’m proud of that. In fact, my message of getting you to appreciate yourself from the inside out is amplified because I have Cerebral Palsy.

I did not take part in Steptember this year but did accomplish quite a bit:

1. Finalized the content machine that is Your Level Fitness…this is how I constantly remind you to appreciate yourself from the inside out.

2. Ran the second full month of the YLF Experience Pilot Program…it’s time for you to join us for that before the January 1st price increase. 💁🏻‍♂️

3. Introduced YLF30, complete with a monthly gift card giveaway incentive.

4. Gutted and rebuilt the shop with uniform branding and the addition of a ton of duel branded products “UA, Champion & Adidas”. Plus, we’re now on Pinterest!!

5. Launched season two of The Men’s Mental Health Series, where we’re focusing on the body image issues men face. Weekly episodes come out on Tuesday. Episodes are already scheduled through most of October and enough men have already committed to record that will take us into December!

6. Personally I completed over 70 workouts this month, for the third month in a row.

These are all things you wouldn’t know just be looking at me. They also don’t define my worth as a person but again, that’s another topic, for another post.

I have but I am much more than having 💪🏻💚

The Price of Holding Grudges 😒

Learning to let go of these expectations can lead to a more peaceful and fulfilling life.

Hey there. So many of us have been taught to suppress our emotions, thinking vulnerability makes us weak. However, acknowledging your feelings is one of the strongest things you can do. It starts with being honest with yourself, and it doesn’t mean you have to share everything with everyone, just with the right people. Suppressing your emotions weighs you down. If you’ve ever felt that pressure, this message is for you.

What are your thoughts? Drop a comment. 💪
