Rather than finishing out his nursing degree at MSU online this spring, he decided to join the frontlines as a nurse battling COVID-19. MSU nursing student trades class time for 12-hour shifts on coronavirus ICU Johnny Choi was logging two shifts a month as an extern at Novi’s Ascension Providence Hospital before the pandemic hit. Now, the 22-year-old nursing student is pulling long hours in a COVID-19 intensive care unit.
