🍂Did you know? 🤔 Taconite tailings are the by-product of the iron ore industry. Tailings are created when the iron ore is crushed out of the larger taconite rocks. Before regulations, the tailings were dumped into Lake Superior ... which created the Black Beach located in Silver Bay, MN. (More info in the comments. It's very interesting!)🍂

🍁This loon (and many other of our pieces) is made from those taconite tailings.🍁
