๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Happy Independence Day! โค๏ธ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™

For many of us, the Fourth of July means backyard barbecues, fireworks, parades, time with family, and celebrating the freedoms we often take for granted.

But it's also a wonderful opportunity to pause and reflect.

The Declaration of Independence wasn't simply a declaration of separation - it was a statement of ideals. Freedom. Equality. Liberty. The belief that every person possesses inherent worth and that governments exist to protect the rights and safety of the people.

250 years later, those ideals continue to challenge us, inspire us, and remind us that freedom is both a privilege and a responsibility.

The books in this illustration represent something I believe deeply: that citizenship isn't just about where we live - it's about how we live. It's found in showing kindness to our neighbors, serving our communities, respecting one another, staying informed, and leaving the next generation with a stronger foundation than we were given.

As we celebrate today, may we enjoy the traditions we love while also remembering the values that continue to shape our nation.

Wishing you a safe, joyful, and meaningful Independence Day.

Happy Fourth of July! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

๐ŸŽ๐ŸŒป Farm stand season is one of my favorite times of year. ๐ŸŒป๐ŸŽ

The hay is being stacked. Watermelons are in carts. Sweet corn is making its appearance. Tomatoes are ripening on the vine, berries are ready to be picked, and before long, pumpkins, apples, and sunflowers will be lining roadside stands.

Thereโ€™s something about country life that reminds us to slow down and appreciate the simple things.

That feeling inspired โ€œFarm Stand Findโ€ - a boutique coloring book filled with charming produce stands, fresh flowers, homemade treats, baked goods, rustic dรฉcor, and cozy countryside moments. Every page features bold, easy-to-color illustrations with plenty of open space, making it perfect for a relaxing afternoon with your favorite colored pencils, markers, or gel pens.

Whether you're dreaming of Saturday mornings at the farmers market or simply looking for a peaceful creative escape, I hope this book brings a little bit of countryside comfort into your home.

๐ŸŒฟ Whatโ€™s one thing you can never resist buying at a farm stand?

Mine? Fresh flowers...and if there's homemade peach jam or local honey, it's definitely coming home with me! ๐Ÿ˜Š

When was the last time you put your phone down... just because?

We live in a world of constant notifications, endless scrolling, and screens competing for our attention every minute of the day. Sometimes, our minds just need a break.

That's one of the reasons I love coloring.

Coloring isn't just for kids anymore. It's a chance to slow down, be present, and create something beautiful without worrying about perfection. Studies suggest that creative activities like coloring can help reduce stress, improve focus, and encourage mindfulness - all while giving your brain a break from the constant stream of digital information.

There is something incredibly satisfying about choosing a color, filling a page, and watching an illustration come to life one pencil stroke at a time. No deadlines. No emails. No notifications. Just a quiet moment that's entirely yours.

As the creator behind Sarah Sadie Ink & Inspiration, my goal has always been to design boutique coloring books that invite you to pause, breathe, and reconnect with your creative side. Whether you color for ten minutes or an hour, those small moments can make a big difference in how you feel.
So tonight, instead of reaching for your phone, try reaching for a box of colored pencils instead.

You might be surprised by how good it feels.

๐Ÿ’œ If you enjoy posts like this, I'd love for you to follow Sarah Sadie Ink and Inspiration for more inspiration, new book releases, and creative ideas. And if you know someone who could use a little less screen time and a little more creativity, share this post with them. You never know who might need the reminder.

Today we recognize Juneteenth, a day that commemorates freedom, resilience, and an important chapter in American history.

Stories matter. History matters. And taking time to learn from both helps us better understand one another.

Wishing everyone a meaningful Juneteenth.

๐ŸŽจ Why Coloring Still Matters in a Digital World

As parents, we're surrounded by screens.

Phones. Computers. Tablets. TVs. Video games.

And while technology certainly has its place, I've come to believe there's something incredibly valuable about simple, creative activities that don't require batteries, Wi-Fi, or notifications.

Coloring is one of those activities.

When children color, they're doing much more than filling a page with crayons. They're practicing fine motor skills, strengthening hand-eye coordination, exploring creativity, improving focus, and learning patience. Coloring also gives children an opportunity to slow down and express themselves in a world that often moves very fast.

Perhaps even more importantly, coloring creates space.

Space for imagination.
Space for conversation.
Space for quiet moments.
Space to simply be a kid.

Some of my favorite memories as a parent aren't the big vacations or expensive outings. They're the simple moments around the kitchen table - talking, laughing, coloring, and spending time together.

In a world filled with screens and constant distractions, those moments feel more important than ever.

That's one of the reasons I'm so passionate about creating coloring books, journals, and activity books. Not because they're products, but because they help create opportunities for connection, creativity, and lasting memories.

What was your favorite screen-free activity when you were a child?
