We’re raising funds to get folks from North Carolina to the 5th Annual Black Mothers March ✊🏾

This is more than a March—it’s a powerful space for organizing, healing, and building community for families impacted by family policing.

We’re calling on our community to show up:
💛 Donate what you can (monetary or in-kind)
📣 Share this with your network

Let’s make sure our voices are present, connected, and amplified.

🚨 UPDATE

Today, Person County Commissioners held a special emergency meeting and went into closed session for over two hours to discuss the murder of Kemari Morgan.

Out of all commissioners present, Commissioner Antoinette Royster was the only one who pushed for accountability.

This is not enough.

We must continue to apply pressure on Person County to:
• Bring Kemari’s siblings home
• Hold every single person responsible fully accountable

Closed-door meetings are not justice.

📞 Keep calling
📧 Keep emailing
✊🏽 Keep demanding answers and action

Kemari deserves justice. His family deserves transparency. The community deserves better.

👉🏽Update from court: Still trying to find the right words to express the deep gratitude for every single person who showed up on Friday to stand in power and solidarity. What we demonstrated together is that there is a strong, national, and growing movement to abolish the family policing system—and we’ve got a serious pull-up game! Want to send a special shoutout to for supporting the pull up! ❤️✊🏽❤️

During the hearing, the Director of Social Services claimed their feelings were hurt by being held accountable for the destruction of countless families in Durham. They offered absolutely zero evidence of harassment, yet Judge James Hill still granted this bogus no-contact order for a year.

But let’s be clear: a no-contact order does not stop us from protesting, speaking out, showing up at board meetings, or challenging this system wherever it operates. Durham county may not understand how the First Amendment works, but that won’t stop us from exercising it!

So let’s keep this energy going.

📅 Next coalition meeting: Monday, Dec 15 at 7pm
📍 101 S. Driver Street

📅 Next board meeting: Wednesday, Dec 17 at 9am
📍 414 E. Main Street (or join virtually)

Mark your calendars and pull up. ✊🏾
