[2/4] We hope that you have taken some time to acknowledge and join in the lament and mourning of the Black community (and listened to the voice shared in our first post). In 2 Corinthians 7:10 Paul says, “For Godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret.”. This lament, this mourning, this grief is our natural immediate response to the suffering of others, yet we are not without hope. Grief is a necessary first step toward true healing and change. Let this hope in mourning be what moves us forward as we confront implicit racism in our hearts and systemic racism in our society.
