Working with Duke Engineers for International Development (DEID), Duke CEE student and Cameron Crazie Bea Hardacre '28 helped construct a water system for a school in Eswatini last summer while also pursuing a degree at the Sanford School of Public Policy.

Duke University has announced a new Systems Engineering master's program for engineering professionals looking to design complex, multidisciplinary systems in their field with an emphasis on intelligent and autonomous systems.
With a flexible 24-month online option and both standard and accelerated on-campus paths, students can tailor their studies to specialized industry tracks, choosing from electives within or a Space Systems track offered in collaboration with the Duke SPACE Initiative.

Biomedical engineers at Duke University have developed a new approach to delivering GLP-1 medications orally that does not require fasting and maintains their efficacy.
The technique could also be useful for any pharmaceutical based on peptides such as insulin or treatments for irritable bowel syndrome, HIV and osteoporosis.
