NCSSM Step Up to STEM

Step Up to STEM was on the road Wednesday at Appalachian State University in Watauga County! Dr. Gerri Cole, along with Extended Learning’s Josh Blackburn, participated in the Appalachian State University’s STEAM Expo that offered interactive displays, campus tours, and on-stage demos to connect students directly to faculty, staff, and students in STEM fields at Appalachian State. Thank you to Ms. Lori Tyler and to the Mathematics & Science Education Center - Appalachian State University for the wonderful opportunity!

Last week, Step Up to STEM, in collaboration with Hannah Isley, Partnership & Student Support Specialist, visited Githens Middle School’s STEAM Night, where we engaged with students, families, and educators to share the wide range of academic opportunities available through Extended Learning at NCSSM. Thank you to Rebecca Burns for the amazing opportunity!

Step Up to STEM was on the road February 7, along with Caila Holley, Associate Director of STEM Mentoring, participating in the 'Bull City in Black’ HBCU Showcase at the Emily K Center in Durham. It was a wonderful opportunity to engage with students and families and share information about our programs and opportunities that the Division of Extended Learning offers through NCSSM!
