With the election right around the corner, Beyond Borders has analyzed the Republican Party’s Presidential candidate Donald Trump’s stances on immigration. Beyond Borders emphasizes the importance of keeping our audience informed, especially with the upcoming election. We encourage you to explore where all candidates stand on immigration and other critical issues, as we recognize the intersectionality behind each of our votes in shaping the future. Your vote is your voice, and it’s vital to consider how each candidate’s policies will impact our diverse communities.
While this post focuses on the presidential race, we encourage you to also explore state and local elections. As election day approaches, it is more critical than ever for us to ask ourselves the true meaning of our vote. Beyond Borders is working with Duke Diya and North Carolina Asian Americans Together (NCAAT) to hold a panel on the significance of voting alongside a voter registration drive! We will be welcoming Dr. Abdullah Antepli, Director of Duke POLIS, and Abi Ranganathan, Head of Voter Engagement at NCAAT. Come out to our interactive, moderated discussion on the importance of the vote of different communities!!! We will have chili momos from Everest Nepali Kitchen and an ice cream cart from Ben and Jerry’s :)
