Attention Local Artists working in any medium!

The Plein Air Painters of The Four Corners is having their annual juried show on September 5th at the Durango Arts Center. As an added dimension to our yearly exhibit, we wanted to try something new, a challenge that would also include non-members. So, we are inviting all our artist friends and NEW friends to participate in a quick draw competition! For those unfamiliar with this fun event, we will plein air paint, frame and hang our work as a show within a show. These pieces will also be juried and be on display for the duration of the main event!

Maryellen Morrow will be hosting the quick draw on August 27th. If you would like to participate, please bring your blank paper, canvas, or panel to the DAC front door on 2nd Ave. at 8 AM. There it will be stamped, and a $10.00 fee will be collected. Then you are free to paint at a location of your choice, downtown, in the neighborhoods, or wherever interests you. You will have until 1pm to make your MAGIC happen. Please return your completed work to the DAC front entry, framed, wired and ready to hang no later than 1pm. The Quick Draw entries will hang on a separate wall from the PAP4C show and will be juried and awarded by Maureen May, one of Durango’s most amazing artists.
