The bridge at mile post 495 on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad withstood the test of time for nearly 100 years. In 2023 we helped install a new bridge across the same section of the Animas. This fall we finally got around to removing the existing bridge.

While the old bridge definitely needed to be removed due to the fact that it was impeding on the river flow around the new bridge and would cause future problems, it was somewhat saddening seeing it come down.

The cool thing is the amount of large beams and lumber that is still in good shape that can be used on future bridge repairs or other projects the DSNG may have.

Building demos don't tend to happen very often in our area, but we were fortunate enough to do two of them recently. Taking care of everything from state and local permits, asbestos testing and removal to the demo and haul off we offer full turnkey demolition services.
