I believe life should be lived, healthy is happy and that flogging should only be temporary :). It took me many years of learning and healing to become the healthy, vital and resilient woman I am today. I feel stronger and more present now after 40 than I ever did in my 20’s, and my health care choices along the way have had a lot to do with that. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and inf

ertility in my early 20’s - the result of a childhood full of poor nutrition, emotional stress and hormonal manipulation. I was limping down the path toward chronic disease. I felt like a zombie, and was—let’s face it—a hot mess all around. If I had maintained my death grip on that trajectory, would I have this life that I love now? Would I have 2 healthy and happy boys? Would I be backpacking the craggy peaks of my home with my husband? Would I be doing this work that fills and inspires me? When life sucks and I occasionally fall apart, would I be able to pick up the pieces and feel empowered and successful rather than beaten down and hopeless? Definite Nope on that one, Friends. My healthcare journey actually started at birth, when it was only by the grace of my parents, Spirit, and modern Emergency Medicine that I survived. That same medical model, that is now considered our dominant healthcare paradigm, that saved my life as a premature infant, almost killed me as a teenager. It was natural medicines, brilliant healers and vital foods and practices that rescued me then, and that have been saving my life ever since. So, just as my teachers have done for me, I now help others find their unique path to healing. I have learned that true healing requires us to be an active partner in our healing journey. I have also learned that true healing happens when we use the right tool for the job and treat the person rather than the disease. As a practitioner I am a teacher and a facilitator, not a mechanic. You are an ecosystem, not a car. I have been practicing integrated healthcare and helping others heal themselves since 2009. I am eternally grateful to my family, teachers, patients and students for allowing me to do the work that I love. In celebration of life!

Pretty excited to gather around our beautiful healing space and an organization that has brought more healing to our community's young people in the 3 short years they've been around than anyone would've thought. The Hive isn't just a super rad teen center that teens like mine actually WANT to support and spend time at. It's also a place kids feel safe, accepted, wanted, respected and valued. Within a community that has boasted a teen su***de rate of 3x the national average in the past, and a state that saw a rise in teen su***de of 70% in 2021, we are so blessed to have The Hive.
Let's show this refuge for our kids the support and honor they deserve!
