Behind every emergency response is countless hours of training.
At Dunedin Fire Rescue, our crews are constantly sharpening their skills so they’re ready when our community needs them most. This video highlights recent training where our firefighters practiced ventilating a commercial flat roof—a critical skill that can improve fire conditions, increase visibility, and enhance safety for both occupants and firefighters during a commercial structure fire.
We train over and over again because there are no “practice” emergencies. Every evolution, every repetition, and every lesson learned is an investment in being better prepared to protect lives and property.
The public may only see us on someone’s worst day, but what they don’t see are the hours of dedication, teamwork, and hard work that happen long before the alarm sounds. We hope the skills we train for are rarely needed, but if that day comes, we’ll be ready.

A big thank you to our special visitors from the community who recently stopped by for a tour of our Fire Station. We were honored to share a fun and educational experience, including meeting Russet, our Fire Dog, learning about fire safety, exploring the station, and even seeing a firefighter gear up in full protective equipment.
A special thank you to Acting Lt. Monsalve, FF McLaughlin, FF Mortenson, Acting Logistics Chief Vukota for bringing Russet, & Inspector Rey for making the visit memorable. We love opportunities like these to connect with our community and share the important work of Dunedin Fire Rescue!

Zorich Family Fundraiser On June 9th one of our brothers with Dunedin Firefighters Local 2327 Tyler Zorich and his wife Courtney experienced a heartbreaking loss of their 2 year old Daughter Sailor Zorich. Local 2327 is raising money to help support the family as they navigate through their unimaginable loss.

This Memorial Day, Dunedin Fire Rescue honors and remembers the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.
Today is a day to reflect on the courage, dedication, and selflessness of those who gave everything to protect the freedoms we enjoy each day. We are forever grateful for their service and sacrifice.
From all of us at Dunedin Fire Rescue — including Russet — we wish everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day. 🇺🇸

This evening, Firefighter/EMT Michael Boles was honored by the Dunedin/Clearwater Elks Lodge as the 2025 Dunedin Firefighter of the Year during the 2025/2026 Community Awards Banquet.
The banquet recognized the heroes and future leaders of our community, and we are incredibly proud to see Firefighter/EMT Boles recognized for his dedication, professionalism, and service to the citizens of Dunedin.
We sincerely appreciate the recognition and continued support from the Dunedin/Clearwater Elks Lodge and their commitment to honoring those who serve our community each and every day. Congratulations, Michael!
