Summer Solstice — Winding Path Guide The summer solstice is not just the longest day. In Chinese medicine it is a threshold moment with direct implications for how you feel through the rest of summer and into fall. Here's what's actually happening at the solstice, and three practical shifts to make this week.
Spring headaches that throb at your temples or start at the base of your skull are not random. They are a Liver pattern, and they show up for a reason. Spring is associated with the liver system and wood element.
In Chinese medicine, when Liver Yin and Blood are not strong enough to hold the Yang energy down, it rises. Straight up the Liver and Gallbladder channels, right into the sides of your head, behind your eyes, into your neck. Stress makes it worse. Poor sleep makes it worse. A glass of wine makes it worse. All three deplete the Liver Yin that is supposed to be anchoring everything.
That is not a coincidence. That is a pattern.
Liver 3 is your first stop. The webbing between your big toe and second toe, firm pressure, one to two minutes on each foot. Use it at the very first sign of that rising feeling. 🌿
