We have different nutritional needs throughout our lives and most adults take some kind of over-the-counter dietary supplement. Patients over age 50 may need more of certain vitamins and minerals than younger adults do, just as athletes require additional supplementation. If you aren’t able to get these through your diet, you may need to research quality vitamin or mineral supplements.
Supplements are meant to be used in addition to your diet. No pill can substitute for all of the vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients found in vegetables.
