Spotted this at the VA. Kinda good they have their act together having AEDs with ifak / JFAK med kits. Always a fun game to play to look for an AED with medical 🏥 kits just in case . Some places are prepared and some are not / they will learn the hard way someday. What’s the best setup for bare bones first aid ⛑️ 🩹 to CPR ? Something is better than nothing in my opinion and it’s good some places including airports , church’s / places of worship and even libraries have AEDs with sometimes med kits. We do need to catch up posting up classes to other neat stuff we have done and again, a lot of us are either military, contracting , first responders, or work health care still so, life does happen. Had a blast learning and relearning live burn training with and other awesome people 🔥 It’s ok to sweat, make mistakes , and learn while having fun during training. It all came back to me while doing this training and I actually learned new things even if I worked other FD’s to contracting over the years . Training like this goes a long way. If you need PTHLS, ACLS , PALS, BLS and other fire / ems training, Brian , , and others we trained with over the years are the people who you want to reach out too. Again, had a blast learning again while having fun in the heat 🔥 and rain 🌧️! Great job 👏 and bravo Zulu to Brian and his Pickaway Ross staff ! 🫀🧠🫁

What happened to Montreal should wake up many in public safety to military. If you watch the active shooter video, a few people get killed including a civilian the officer accidentally shot. Chaos happens in situations like this and for those of us who been in situations like this state side to overseas , you have to train like others including your own depend on it. Tactics do matter same with training but , so does situational awareness. For all you first responders to military medical providers , what could have been done better ? How much blood 🩸 do you think the officer lost before bleeding out and why does it matter ? Rather than “arm chair quarter back it” , if you were the female officer or the officer hit, what could have been done better or worse ? There was only one lone gunman. Imagine if it was multiple with training or opposition that knows your tactics ? There has been active shooters here with training who pied corners and have taken out responders same with those who were former military or had similar training. Never assume it’s only one threat but also, train for scenarios like this . Great post by .cops and we always give credit where it’s due but, they posted a great video / post about this situation. Does TECC, Stop the bleed , RTF , TCCC and other alphabet soups work in this situation? Are we too focused on looking cool in training or cutting corners as a “check in the box”?
