DRAPER SMILES

I’m incredibly pleased with the outcome of this case.
It presented a unique challenge, as we needed to creatively replicate natural tooth and gum aesthetics in ways that aren’t feasible through surgical methods anymore.
The task involved replacing a poorly executed crown on an implant (too big of an implant in the site to begin with) and correcting a crown on a peg lateral—a procedure that shouldn’t have been done in the first place.
What excites me most about this work is the opportunity to push my skills and problem-solve.
While the journey of learning can be frustrating, the satisfaction of overcoming challenges and seeing the tangible progress is immensely rewarding.
Case Overview:
For this case, I took a full hands-on approach with the final crowns on the laterals, designing them in-house using Exocad and milling them in-house with a hybrid ceramic blocks (Enamic).
The centrals were restored with direct composite. At a follow-up appointment, the new crowns on the laterals were bonded, and all four anterior teeth were cut-back and re-layered with direct composite to achieve a refined aesthetic.
The canines were enhanced with direct composite applied to the incisal edges and the incisal facial surfaces to ensure a seamless flow and harmony within the smile.
For a final touch, the distal cervical area of the #8 composite was cut-back and an intentional black triangle was created. This space was then filled with pink composite using a bioclear matrix.
The pink composite was meticulously shaped and tinted to blend seamlessly with the client’s natural tissue. This is my first experience using the bioclear matrix in this manner with pink composite, and seeing the results align perfectly with my vision is incredibly satisfying.
