UDC Jiu Jitsu

This week Officer De Farias held the first session at USCF. We're going to look to make these more regular, and we've asked purple belt Officer Hoskins to help supplement the sessions. I believe the times are changing to 6:30-7:30 pm. If you have a gi bring it, if not athletic attire is appropriate.

Sergeant Hampton dropped into Gracie Barra Herriman today, where one of our professional staff, Anya, is currently training. They held a special class with a few of the other Gracie Barra professors. Professor Rodrigo will be coming in to teach our Jiu-Jitsu club on the 18th of July. We will put out a flyer shortly.

This month we celebrate the USA's 250th Independence Day.

We also celebrate the 1 year anniversary for our club. Saturday July 4th we will have an open mat from 0730-0830. We are reaching out to instructors for each Saturday the rest of the month. We will update as we get confirmations.

Awesome continuation of our guard series. Review of bump sweep/guillotine, then moved to the scissor sweep/kimura. Next week, Armbar/flower sweep!

Yesterday's crew. We went through pressure progressions. Starting with Jiu Jitsu chess, then flow rolls, to free rolling. Great work!

Attention ladies in Utah County, Vida Jiu-Jitsu is providing free classes for women. This is an excellent chance to train, especially if our Saturday sessions are not working for your schedule.

Also, SGT Hampton dropped by Vida Jiu-Jitsu Utah for the Grand Opening. If you are in the Spanish Fork area, drop in and check the school out. Awesome environment and a great team. Looking forward to getting Greg Lapin some time with our DT instructors. Last time we had the team meet up was a few years back. Not only was the experience extremely valuable to our instructors, but it helped set the momentum to get the club going.
