๐ŸŽ‰ Happy !

Pride looks different for everyone, but it often starts with independence.

๐Ÿš— For Connor, it's taking an Uber on his own, working toward finding a job, staying active at the YMCA, and gaining confidence through The Next Step Programs' overnight experiences. He's proud of how far he's come on his journey toward independence.

๐Ÿ“ฑFor Dane, it's using his phone to communicate, navigating his community with confidence, and knowing he's accepted for who he is. He's proud to be part of a community that values people of all abilities.

Honoring Disability Pride Month gives people like Connor and Dane the opportunity to build independence, confidence, and meaningful connections in their community. This month, we are celebrating our TNS community with pride.

Through our Community-Based Day program, Explore, participants have new opportunities each day to learn new skills and be out in their community. So, it's only right we welcome you to this week's Explore Round Up!

What has The Next Step Programs been up to?

๐ŸŒฑ We've worked hard to maintain our community garden and help our vegetables grow.

๐Ÿฅ— And we've been able to take those vegetables and use them in the kitchen when we work on cooking and meal prep!

๐ŸŽฃ We took a trip to Fort Washington State Park to learn how to cast a reel and catch some fish!

๐ŸšถWe've been getting our steps in, inside and outside.

But most importantly... We've had a blast while doing it. ๐Ÿ’œ
