PTA's mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. A PTSA Member is NOT an Automatic Volunteer

Volunteering or meeting attendance is not mandatory (but one is always welcome) to be a member. Become a part of a non-profit organization whose main beneficiaries are students. Any community members, guardians, caregivers, aunts, uncles, and friends are welcome to join.

Now in its third year, the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Committee, or SSAC, is continuing to tackle and discuss the topics that affect our high school students the most! In February’s meeting, they were able to see how their previous insightful feedback is now shaping a new and much more dynamic website and app! These new tools will help Downey Unified high school students keep track of the A-G Graduation Requirement courses as they complete them. The goal is to give our students the data they need to continue on their path to graduate as well as be eligible and competitive to apply to the UC and Cal State university systems and beyond! The SSAC members were also able to discuss and share how our College and Career centers can spread the word about Career Technical Education (CTE) Pathway courses to our incoming Freshmen and upperclassmen. Whether our members are in their 3rd or 1st year, they all have a unique perspective to share and we cannot thank them enough for their dedication to amplifying student voices in our district. #WeAreDowneyUnified #OurKidsDeservetheBest #OurKidsAREtheBest #StudentAdvisory 02/29/2024

Attention Seniors! Distinguished Graduate deadline are coming up.

🎓The deadline to turn in Community Services hours is FRIDAY, March 15 at 4PM. Hours can be turned in at the guidance office.
🎓The deadline to clear attendance is Friday, March 15 at 4PM. Saturday School on March 23 is the last Saturday School seniors can use as long as they are signed up by Friday 3/15.
