Tracey and Cheri Syphax, a Black entrepreneurial couple from New Jersey, purchased Booker's Restaurant & Bar in West Philadelphia for $3.3 million in March 2023. They are honoring the legacy of Booker Wright, the courageous 1960s Mississippi waiter, while adding their own touches to this beloved Black-owned establishment. This marks the couple’s first hospitality venture through Phax Entertainment Group, LLC.
