We understand how frustrating it can be when an accident happens or a hard drive fails and all you documents, photos, and files are stuck somewhere you can't access. We try our hardest to get it all back to you but sometimes, we just don't have the technology.
Luckily, we work with a great company that has recovered data for customers like ABC News, Adobe, Harvard University, Lucasfilm Ltd, Smithsonian Institute, The Simpsons, and a good number of our customers!
We will warn you, it can be a bit expensive so before it gets to be a few thousand dollars to get those baby pictures and old resumes back, here are a few tip from Drivesavers to keep your data protected BEFORE recovery.
1. Backup, back up, back up! Always keep a current copy of your data on another type of storage media.
2. Turn off external storage devices only after shutting down the computer to avoid possible corruption from occurring.
3. Do not move a drive while it is operating. Physical damage could occur resulting data loss.
4. If the drive was previously in a very cold environment, allow it to warm up to room temperature before turning on.
