We kicked off June and the start of summer in style with our bright and cheerful Flip Flop & Lemon Drop Party! Residents enjoyed sunny décor, live music, dancing, and delicious lemon‑themed treats crafted by our amazing Food Service Team. A perfect way to welcome the season together.

Honoring Our Heroes: Flag Day Celebration at Dover Place

The Daughters of the American Revolution joined our Veterans for a heartfelt Flag Day luncheon, bringing their signature warmth, patriotism, and deep appreciation for those who served. Their dedication shines every time they visit. They truly go above and beyond to recognize and celebrate our Dover Place Veterans.

We’re thrilled to welcome our newest friend, Ed, to Dover Place! His outgoing personality is as big as the life he’s lived. Ed is an Air Force Veteran and a proud member of the Carolinas’ Hall of Fame in Boxing, Billiards, and Auto Racing. What an incredible journey. We’re honored to have him in our community!

Our Friendship Picnic with Orchard Church was filled with good food, good friends, and good memories! Chicken salad, deviled eggs, fresh fruit — and lots of smiles. Thank you, Orchard friends, for filling our home with warmth and community!

What a wonderful way to wrap up the first week of June! We were delighted to welcome the Delaware Choral Society Outreach Ensemble for an afternoon filled with music and memories. 🎤🎵

From patriotic favorites 🇺🇸 to timeless Irving Berlin classics 🎶, their performance had everyone singing along and enjoying every moment. Thank you to the talented ensemble for bringing such joy to our community! ❤️👏

🌷 Tea Party with the Girl Scouts! 🌷
We had the loveliest afternoon at the Girl Scout Mother–Daughter Tea Party at Dover Place! 💕 The delicious sandwiches, dainty cookies, and flavored teas were such a treat. 🍪🫖 We even wore the adorable hats we made with the 4‑H Club! 🎀👒 A truly special day spent with wonderful friends. Thank you for including us! 💚

A HUGE thank‑you to the amazing Potpourri Garden Club for donating beautiful handmade raised garden beds for our Dover Place residents! 🌱💚
Your generosity didn’t stop there, you also got us started with plenty of plants, and our residents are thrilled to begin their new patio garden club. 🌼

Today we celebrated our AMAZING Dover Place Volunteers! From those who honor our Veterans, to our churches, schools, 4‑H leaders, creative groups, flower friends, musicians, pet therapy teams, dancers, and so many more—your kindness fills our community with joy.
Our Food Service Team treated everyone to a delicious brunch, we enjoyed wonderful entertainment by Sol Knopf, and most importantly, we cherished time together.
