Get ready for DJ E-Legal! He's coming up at 2pm!

08/25/2024

Today, DJ Sticks (Steve Montsch) will be opening the festival up at noon! Don't miss all of the other great performers coming out today including DJ E-Legal (Eric Holden), Pat Haass and Friends, Bill Facciolo Jr., and Bad Ave Band! Yesterday was a blast and we can't wait to get this second day started!

There were a couple questions that popped up yesterday that we weren't able to answer right away.

Are dogs allowed? Yes! Good pups are allowed as long as they are on a leash.

Can I pay at the door? Yes! It is $10 at the door or online. If you're paying at the door, please bring cash.

What food is there? Yesterday we had 2 food options for the majority of the day. Today there will be all 3, all day! Come out and enjoy giant cheesesteaks, jerk chicken, Mediterranean food, BBQ and soul food! The portions are huge and the food is crazy good!

Is there a wing contest this year? Not this year, but we do have peppers ready for the pepper eating contests.

Leave any questions here and we will do our best to answer them through all the craziness going on today!

2nd Annual Delaware Spice Festival is only 2 days away! Here's what to expect and to be prepared:

- This one is important, so it's going first. Please BRING CASH with you, as well as smaller bills. A lot of the vendors will be taking cash only, but there are some that take card as well.
- If you haven't already, you can purchase a ticket online at spicefests.com. Have your ticket pulled up on your phone or printed out to make checking in faster.

Heres what you can expect at the festival!
- Amazing local bands, performers, and DJs from all over the state.
- 3 flavorful selections of food to choose from.
- Just under 20 different vendors to check out and get your shop on! We tried to make sure we had a large variety for you!
- Hot Pepper Eating Contests, with a trophy up for grabs.
- Kid Friendly! Kids under 10 get in for free. There is a play area in the backyard as well as toys and board games inside the brewery.
- Speaking of brewery, JAKL has amazing tasting beers and will be offering their pepper patch beer for only $5 per glass!
- There will be plenty for kids to drink as well. Some vendors will be bringing lemonade, and JAKL also has a Kids selection for drinks.
- 50/50 raffles will be taking place throughout the day. Be sure to get your tickets for a chance to win some cash!
- Parking will be first come, first serve. The parking lot at the brewery is a decent size, but you may have to park a little further away if it is full. We will have someone directing traffic if parking starts getting out of hand. We encourage carpooling as much as possible to help save spaces.
- The weather is forecasted to be in the low 80s all weekend, and looking like sunshine! Much better than last year, for those of you that came! The last band on both nights takes the stage at 7 and will be wrapping up around 8, unless they choose to play a little longer. After that, you are welcome to stick around until 9 with us and enjoy the DJ as we start to wrap everything up for the evening.

This weekend is shaping up to be a great time. Invite your friends, family, and anyone else you can! All proceeds are going to a great charity, and we would love to make a difference with your support. If you would like more information about the charity, please see SL24: UnLocke the Light here. We look forward to seeing everyone and hope you enjoy the festival this weekend.
