When our team signed up to serve with Graceworks Alaska to volunteer at the Iditarod, we had no idea how vital our role would be in the start of this epic race! Gracework teams are responsible for a majority of the set up (which is A LOT), security during the race (manning the front gate, directing traffic in the parking lot, and manninging the crossing points out on the lake during the race). It was an amazing and demanding and bucket list experience. We met so many people along the way and made connections and friendships that will last beyond the race! God provided the most beautiful day. There were ice crystals in the air that sparkled like diamonds in the sun. Oh, and did I mention breaking everything down and loading up after the race? Like I said, the Graceworks team played a vital role. We give God all the thanks and praise for granting us the health and strength to pull it all off. To Him be the glory!

Started our day with an inspiring message about divine appointments. So many examples in the bible: the woman at the well, Peter and Cornelius, Elijah and the widow, and on and on. So excited to imagine the divine appointments He has planned for us as we serve as official Iditarod volunteers. Tomorrow our team of 5 will join with about 40 other volunteers to set up for the race on Sunday! www.iditarod.com
