How many times have you heard of "The Sinner's Prayer"? Or perhaps you've heard from a friend, a preacher, or even an advertisement on television something like, "If you believe in Jesus, just pray with me these words..." and the speaker recites some words expressing belief and repentance and confession of sins, closing with words like, "If you've prayed this prayer, you're saved! Please contact us and let us know that you've accepted Jesus and we'll rejoice with you." We hear it so often, we may believe that this is taught throughout the New Testament by Jesus Himself as well as His apostles. But is it in the Bible at all? Is there anything resembling the idea that a sinner can become a saint by simply believing in Jesus and saying these words? Let's find out....
