While there are numerous reasons a person might struggle with hitting depth in a squat, working on mobility may help. Here are two drills to add to your warm ups on squat day.

1️⃣ ankle drills. Ankle mobility is probably the most common reason I see someone struggle to hit depth. If you notice your heels constantly lifting in your squat, this may be the culprit.

2️⃣garland pose. This is a yoga pose for hip opening. If you can’t do it freestanding like I show in the video, you can put your back against a wall and/or place a rolled up mat or blanket under your heels.
