So here is the jest from a 603 area code: This is a known, common, and dangerous scam targeting people in New Hampshire (603 area code) and across the US. The phrase "failure to appear" or "missed jury duty" is used to scare you into making a panicked, immediate payment.
DO NOT send money, provide personal information, or purchase gift cards/Bitcoin. I listened to everything this clown had to say, and it sounds legit. Until it got to the Bitcoin parts. RED FLAGS! Paying a so called fine to stay out of Jail with Bitcoin? Really? He even went to the if you contact a police officer or federal person they would arrest you immediately
