Many older prints were made with acidic paper, which leads to brittleness and discoloration over time. The good news is that professional deacidification can help slow, or even stop, the process. ✨🧪

This severely damaged piece arrived mounted to linen and stretcher with acid burn, foxing, heavy rippling, multiple tears, a hole, and liquid staining.
It was carefully removed, cleaned, deacidified, treated for mold, and stabilized with tear mending, archival mounting, pressing, and retouching. 🧼✨
