Chambers County Precinct 3 Constable Donnie Standley | Elected 01/01/2005 - EOW 05/16/2024

On Thursday May 16th at approximately 1705 hrs, CCSO dispatch put out a medical call at 1343 Haynes Road in reference to a male subject falling off a horse. Deputies and EMS responded and it was discovered Constable Standley appeared to have suffered some type of medical episode causing him to fall from his horse. All efforts to revive Constable Standley were unsuccessful. Constable Standley was pronounced deceased by medical staff at St Elizabeth Hospital. Constable Standley’s family were at the hospital as well as numerous CCSO personnel and Chambers County EMS.

Constable Standley was a true working professional Law Enforcement Officer. He routinely patrolled his precinct, was known to many, and made himself available to his constituents at all times. He had a great working relationship with CCSO and other local law enforcement and many of us called him friend.

Sheriff Hawthorne and all CCSO send condolences to the family and want them to know how much we appreciate working with Constable Standley. He will be greatly missed. Sheriff Hawthorne says the community lost a great public servant who always did his best for our county.
