Exciting news for Detroit! 🎨🏆 Detroit was ranked No. 6 in the nation for street art as part of USA TODAY's annual 10 Best list for 2026.

To celebrate, we’re highlighting a few murals and street art right here on the west side in District 7 that you can explore in your own neighborhood:

🖌️ The Joe Louis Greenway, where art and nature come together to connect communities across the city

Calling all youth and young adults! Grow Detroit’s Young Talent (GDYT) offers paid summer jobs for youth ages 14–24, helping build skills, experience, and confidence.

The 2026 application is open for Detroit residents through May 15 at gdyt.org/youth.

Participants can work up to 120 hours in a variety of roles, from community projects and event support to retail, accounting, and even Junior Police or Fire Cadet programs!

Last year, more than 8,000 young people were employed through GDYT. We’re excited to see even more youth from the Detroit community participate this year! 💼✨
