Shekina Foster

Dr. Judith McAllister in the International C.O.G.I.C. Shekina graduated from Concordia University Ann Arbor with with a bachelor's in Vocal Performance and Voice in 2017 where she learned to sing in several languages while starting the 1st gospel choir. In Feb 2021, she and her husband joined Greater Emmanuel Institutional C.O.G.I.C. where she serves under the leadership of the Presiding Bishop J. Drew Sheard and 1st Lady Karen Clark Sheard as a worship leader, and choir director for adults and children. Shekina has become a popular buzzing name in Detroit where her sound encompasses a mixture of her influences and mentors like Karen Clark-Sheard, Dr. Bettye Nelson, Dr. Judith McAllister. She is even compared to her Aunt LaBarbara Whitehead (Donald Vails Choraleers lead). Shekina's Debut Album “Without You” Released on all streaming platforms October 6th 2023 is a testament to her personal journey as tribute to her father's passing several months before its release. The Album has made great strides since release being added to over 100+ Radio FM, XM, Internet stations across the globe, rising the Media base charts, winning several awards, and making Stellars final rounds. Since the release Shekina has been afforded opportunities to be apart of Still Karen and Kierra Sheard-Kelly Newest album and more. Shekina has had a love for singing since she was a little girl and wants her ministry to encourage all ages. The goal of her music is to “Be the bridge between the old and new generation.” Shekina wants her music to inspire/inhabit change within the unbeliever. She treats singing as a one-on-one worship session with God. “No one is around, it’s just me and God. I love to worship!”
