National Radiation Therapy Week- is November 3-9, 2024. Each year, our program shines a spotlight on the essential role that our clinical preceptors have on our student's success as mentors and instructors.

Our junior and senior class picks those individuals who go over and beyond to encourage, mentor, and instruct. This year the students picked :

Sue Karam MHP, Madison Heights, Mi
Terry Polewski MHP, Madison Heights, Mi
Ricky Hall Henry Ford, Detroit, Mi
Sherry Jones-Mercy Health, Perrysberg, Ohio

Program Director, Jeannetta Greer, ordered inscribed trophies for each that says "Above and Beyond" and includes each recipient name.

Our senior student, Christina Belanger, did not mention anything to us about her recent community service, and did not ask for any recognition, she just wanted to do what she thought would be generous and kind for kids.

Christina is known for her long and silky dark locks. She recently cut off 13 inches of her beautiful hair and donated it to a very worthy cause called, Wigs for Kids.

Wigs for Kids is an organization that helps children with cancer try to keep their
self-esteem by helping them look like their friends.

Christina who has two little kids of her own, donated her hair in order to make a difference in the lives of children who are going through a very difficult time. It is a struggle that many adults with cancer would have a hard time dealing with.

Attached is the before and after of Christina.

Such a beautiful story regarding such a beautiful student.
