Can we talk about Grayton Beach for a second? Because I feel like it doesn't get enough credit. 🌊✨

While everyone's fighting for parking in Destin, Grayton Beach State Park is sitting quietly on 30A being absolutely stunning and significantly less crowded. The water color is different here, more variation, more texture, more of that wild Florida coastline feel that you don't get on the more developed stretches.

It's also one of the few spots where the dunes and the vegetation give you a completely different backdrop than a typical open beach session. If you want photos that look like the Emerald Coast but don't look like every other Emerald Coast session you've seen, Grayton is your answer. (It's also my personal favorite area 😊)

This is the part of my job that I genuinely cannot put a price on. Watching families come back year after year and seeing how much has changed in twelve months, it gets me every single time. It also reminds me how much I've grown as a photographer, and how fortunate I am that this is my job!

Navarre is criminally underrated by the way. The pier, the water, the light, etc. It's absolutely unmatched no matter what the weather is doing.

Pretty much any photographer will tell you the best part about their job is knowing you’re capturing a special moment for these families. It’s genuinely my favorite part about what I do and why I ask these questions as a part of my session intake, because I want to celebrate with you!! 🥰

The driving, the gas, the late nights, the long editing hours, everything is worth it. And getting feedback like “we absolutely LOVE our photos” is how I know I’m doing what the Lord has called me to do. Not because I’m an expert photographer, but because I care so deeply about my job and the people I get to meet.

That’s why I show up to the beach every evening EXCITED to see these families. That’s why I care so much about getting it right.

One thing I've learned about my business is to be more intentional with my time. I've done the whole 3 sessions back to back on the same day thing, and for me personally, it's exhausting.

I love getting that one-on-one time with a family before the session, getting to know their kids, where they are traveling from, how long they'll be at the beach, etc. I truly think it sets the tone for the entire evening, and I always try to make it a good one.

For some families, it's a once-in-a-lifetime trip. For some, it's a yearly family vacation. But whether it's your first time ever or you're an annual visitor, the family photos are worth it every time.

This is what extended family sessions on the Emerald Coast look like! I've never been a fan of the "add $25 per person" pricing model. Instead, I keep it simple: bigger group, bigger package. That's it.
