Did you know that Sec. 4.1003 of our City Ordinance requires a permit to conduct a garage sale? π πΈ
Here's what you need to know:
β
You can hold two (2) garage sales per year.
β Selling new merchandise for resale is against city ordinance.
π Temporary signs can be placed on the property where the sale is held, but no signs at remote locations. They are illegal!
To obtain your permit and get FREE advertising on our city website, visit desototexas.gov or call the Action Center at 972-230-9600.
Letβs keep DeSoto looking great! π

Thank you, Councilmember Parker, for your kind words and continued support! We truly appreciate the opportunity to work together to keep DeSoto a safe and vibrant community. Our Code Enforcement team is dedicated to ensuring a high quality of life for both residents and businesses, and it's great to see that effort recognized. A special thanks to Officer King for proudly representing our department and consistently going above and beyond. Weβre proud to serve DeSoto and look forward to continuing our work together.
I appreciated the DeSoto Code Enforcement for giving me a chance to ride along with officer Senester King and see what they see in these DeSoto streets.
Many times we are negative about the job of a code officer but they do tackle alot to help keep our Community safe and help retain a quality of life for the DeSoto residents and businesses.

π Oncor's Role:
Oncor handles tree trimming within 10 feet of power lines that could cause hazardous conditions, such as sparking. To report a potential hazard, call Oncor at 888-313-6862.
Oncor will NOT trim trees for wires running directly to your meter.
π± Property Owner Responsibility:
If you have trees that are growing into the service wire between the pole and your house, it's up to you, the property owner, to trim or remove them.
