This morning, I volunteered as a course monitor for Global Race Management Red, Hot & Blue 4-mile race.

As I watched runners pass by, I was reminded of today’s scripture.

Every runner is running the same course.

But not every runner is running at the same pace.

Some are sprinting.

Some are jogging.

Some are walking.

Some are simply determined to cross the finish line.

And that’s okay.

It reminds me that God has called each of us to run the race set before us.

Not someone else’s race.

Not someone else’s pace.

Not someone else’s purpose.

Our responsibility is to remain faithful to the course God has marked out for us.

So today, whether you’re moving quickly or taking one faithful step at a time, don’t get discouraged.

Keep running your race.

God never asked you to finish first.

He asked you to finish faithfully.
