Big things are happening in downtown Des Moines! The Financial Center is stepping into a new era as the Mezzo on Walnut, mixing historic character with modern housing!

With support from the State Historic Tax Credit, 15 floors have been transformed into apartments, turning underused space into a place people can call home. This project highlights how underutilized space can be transformed into places people want to call home—supporting workforce attraction, increasing downtown activity and contributing to long-term economic strength.

Iowa’s leadership in insurance innovation was on display during the InsurTech Israel delegation visit!

At a roadshow hosted by Holmes Murphy and BrokerTech Ventures, in partnership with the Israeli Consulate, Director Durham joined insurance leaders as 11 innovative startups connected with Iowa insurers to spark investment and partnership opportunities.

What sets Iowa apart is its strong culture of partnership, bringing together talent, industry and leadership to turn ideas into action and continue growing its InsurTech ecosystem.

Earlier this month, IEDA welcomed over 100 guests from around the work to its annual International Dinner in Des Moines, bringing together partners from more than 25 countries.

From meat and grain to processing and allied industries, leaders from across the U.S. joined international partners to exchange insights and strengthen relationships. Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig and industry leaders shared insights on trade partnerships and shared appreciation for continued business with overseas partners.

Iowa State University President David Cook also attended, underscoring the importance of global collaboration and innovation within Iowa’s agricultural and research communities.

In partnership with America's Cultivation Corridor, Iowa Corn Promotion Board, Iowa Pork Producers Association, and Iowa Soybean Association, the event highlighted the critical role of international trade in Iowa’s farm economy.
