Abbas Hand Mosaic Class is a fun and relaxing environment to learn a new art-making skill or to refresh yourself on an old one. During class we will discuss tools, adhesives, bases, and various techniques used while creating mosaics. By the end of the second session you will have a finished mosaic piece to give as a gift or to showcase in your home. Class is split into two 2 hour sessions:

Mosaic cross. Antique dishware, black crash glass, porcelain rose, wooden and glass leaves, bits of colored shell and very tiny craft flowers.

New work. A mosaic picture frame, made for a sweet, young woman having her first baby. She created a wall mural in her nursery of a serene mountain scene. I took that as inspiration for this piece, made using stained glass, crash glass, and various glass pebbles. Topped with my favorite scripture under glass, muted with water color paint.

A summer gift project for my BFF. This wide, wood base picture frame is covered in authentic, ocean-made beach glass and seashells, collected from sunny beaches in Maine. Other adornments included are vintage china, glass beads, and a small addition of pink, mirrored glass. I played with grout colors, mixing it up with earthy blues, lavendars and greens which are some of her favorite colors. A sweet summer vibe for a summer birthday, custom made for her...she loved it!
