Celebrating Hand Therapy Week by recognizing the experts behind recovery 🙌

Certified hand therapists (CHTs) are occupational or physical therapists with advanced training and certification in treating conditions of the hand, wrist, and upper extremity. They play a critical role in helping patients regain strength, mobility, and function after injury, surgery, or chronic conditions.

At Iowa Ortho, Nicole Kauppila, OTR/L, CHT, and Janet Lebsack, OTR/L, CHT, CLT, provide specialized, hands-on care tailored to each patient’s needs—guiding them through every step of recovery so they can return to daily activities with confidence.
