strengthen the City of Des Moines arose as a student attending Highline Community College and Thomas Jefferson High School, I received my high school diploma. The injustices and inequities I saw at both schools forced me to transfer to another college. It was at Seattle Central College that I developed skills to address inequities in Des Moines. I graduated with an Associate of Arts. I transferred to the University of Washington as a first generation college student. I graduated from UW with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. After graduating, I continued my advocacy work currently as a Kindergarten Teacher. I have learned to ensure all students regardless of color or background be treated with equity. This principle is one I bring, as an Office Manager at Highline Public Schools. On my weekends I teach English as Second Language to students living in working in South King County. I work with the Seattle King County and Vancouver NAACP to promote diversity and inclusive education to be taught in classes across Washington State. I volunteer my time advocating across South King County for the rights of all citizens. My work as a teacher, advocate, and person of color qualifies me to address and provide for the needs of the City of Des Moines as Councilmember Position 7 for Des Moines City Council.
