The first car with an all-steel body was the 1912 Hupmobile Model 32. The body components were produced the Hale & Kilburn Co. in Pennsylvania, and then shipped to the Hupp Factory in Detroit, where they were assembled.
It’s important to remember that the area(s) that are going to be welded should be free of any rust, oil, water and paint, or as close to it as possible. If any of this is present, the weld will be weak and not the best looking weld.
