Every. Dang. Run. You hate to start cold, so you layer up. But then you're sweating within ten minutes, and afraid to take off outer layers for fear of the sweat drying and being cold again. So what to wear, especially during the unpredictable spring and fall in the northeast?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
First, synthetic materials are king. They wick sweat away from the skin and dry faster than cotton, and so mean less time drowning in cold wetness. Second, I'm all about a running backpack (or the budget-friendly standby, tying long sleeves around the waist) for easily stowing layers when I get hot or keeping extras handy if it gets cold. Bonus, the pack allows me to carry extra water, cards, and phone. Gloves, neck warmer, and hat provide for small temperature adjustments as needed.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

flexABILITY Physical Therapy is owned by a Doctor of Physical Therapy - me! - and I treat clients with orthopedic and neurological concerns in their homes. The decision to work with any health professional is a personal one, based on personality fit and a match between my skills and your goals.
So, who am I? I'm a native New Englander, raised in NH from five onward and educated at Pinkerton Academy (go Astros!) and then Wheaton College. After college, I spent five years working in Boston before I moved to California's Bay Area, and then to Texas to attend Texas Woman's University for my DPT. But now I'm back to stay!
I've been running for more than a decade, and enjoy yoga and weightlifting in addition to endurance sports. I was a coach and pace group leader for the official San Francisco Marathon training program, and am a certified RRCA run coach, too. Moving keeps me healthy, but it also keeps me HAPPY, and I love helping clients find "joy in motion."
I've been vegan for 20 years. Though I first started eating plant-based for the animals, these days it's just as much for my health and the health of our environment. Food is a big part of sustainable medicine to me and I enjoy helping clients leverage lifestyle choices to improve their well-being, whether they're vegan, meat-eating, or something in between.
I love bringing all of my interests and experience to bear in my role as physical therapist, and spend plenty of time as wellness coach and cheerleader, too. Let's work together to achieve your vision for peak performance and health!
