CAGE2 Hitting

I can confidently say that the Rapsodo has been an absolute game changer kids and myself as an instructor. Every recorded session has the ability to be expanded to a 6 (more like 5) page information bomb on the recorded sessions metrics.

A few questions that it’s allowed us to answer:
- Is this swing playable?
- Is this swing repeatable?
- Are the adjustments being made valid on the field or valid in the cage?

Transparently, there have been some adjustments that I thought were necessary, ended up not being what the kid needed. But it looked veeeery good and playable in the cage. Some balls that were being hit were actually outs on the field.

To be honest, my first month or 2 was very humbling because of that. The Rapsodo point blank told me, “yep, that ain’t gonna work.” So I had to adjust and that’s exactly what I did and will continue to do.

I feel a lot more calculated. I knew that this was going to be a good investment but I didn’t know how good. I knew that if I wanted to compete and get deeper with these kids, it was necessary.

This also ain’t the only view. Within the app, you’re able to view every single swing, even when the session is done. We make an adjustment, we get a good round, we flag it and note it. The video feature overlaying the metrics on the swing. The ability to see live spray charts, hot/cold zones, EV’s in certain areas, parameters on launch angles before we run into outs. This thing is sick. And that’s just the hitting side. The pitching side (which I have the license for) has wayyyy more features.
